Would you take a detail-oriented music publishing role immersed in royalties and metadataβsupported by strong benefits and located near Nashvilleβs creative coreβor would you prefer an opportunity more focused on creative production or marketing in music?
Iβd need a salary range and clarity on tools (Excel pivots, Counterpoint/Maestro, DDEX/CWR) before considering it; similar royalty/metadata roles around Nashville seem to land mid-40s to low-60s. Franklinβs great, but if itβs in-office all week that commute adds up β anyone know if itβs hybrid?
Ask how they handle unmatched income and black box β at my last role (Counterpoint + DDEX CWR), that ate 40% of my week until we enforced IPI/ISWC at ingest. If they donβt auto-validate identifiers, expect lots of pivot tables and manual splits.
Iβd ask if theyβre on Counterpoint/Maestro and which CWR version they submit, and whether they enforce IPI + ISWC at ingest - when we added a quick Power Query check for missing identifiers, our unmatched items dropped about 30% in a quarter. Also confirm how they reconcile MLC vs PRO statements; ISRC mismatches were our sneaky culprit for underclaims on YouTube/MLC.
