Just noticed multiple Friday drops are finally listing “lyricist” in Spotify’s Show Credits — saw it on a collab I wrote last month that went through DistroKid. Is this rolling out wider, and if you’ve been co-writing, did proper lyric splits/metadata seem to help it appear?
Same here — mine showed once I set exact splits, chose the ‘lyricist’ role in DistroKid, and added each writer’s IPI/CAE (metadata’s picky like airline ticket names). It’s still spotty by distributor/territory, so if one doesn’t appear, check in Spotify for Artists and request a credit fix; did you include IPIs on that collab?
Building on @lee89: mine only showed after the work got an ISWC from my PRO, then Spotify updated a few days later; credits are a slow elevator… Quick check: see if the work’s in Jaxsta with “lyricist” tagged (https://www.jaxsta.com); if it’s, have you waited a week or two since release?
I got mine to show after I emailed DistroKid support with the ISWC and asked them to “re-deliver metadata”; it updated on Spotify within two days. Small caveat: a remix didn’t populate because the registered composition title didn’t match the release title, so I added the alt title at my PRO and then it stuck. Do you already have the ISWC assigned?
