Building Vocal Confidence Through Technique

I’ve noticed that many singers feel nervous even when they’ve practiced extensively. I really believe that working on specific vocal techniques can help with that anxiety. For instance, focusing on breath control during warm-ups can not only improve your tone but also make you feel more grounded when you perform. I’d love to hear your thoughts or any techniques that have worked for you in boosting your confidence.

I completely get what you’re saying about breath control. I found that doing simple hums while feeling my diaphragm engage really helped me ground myself before performing. It takes practice, but it makes a huge difference in easing nerves.

I’ve found that visualization techniques really help boost my confidence. Before I perform, I like to close my eyes and picture the audience enjoying my singing, which helps calm my nerves. It’s all about creating a positive mental space for yourself.

Breath control is key! I sometimes use a straw during warm-ups to focus on my airflow. @valerie_g52, have you tried that?
