When humor helps in tough times

I was reminiscing about an open mic night I did years ago where everything that could go wrong did. My guitar string snapped mid-song, and instead of panicking, I joked that I was just trying a new ‘one-string’ style. Sometimes, laughter is the best way to adapt when things don’t go as planned. Anyone else have funny moments in their music journey?

I totally get that! I’ve had a similar moment when my mic cut out mid-set, and I just turned it into a bit about how I wanted to give everyone a ‘silent disco’ experience. , those tech issues can really throw you off, but finding humor is what keeps it fun.

I remember a gig where I messed up the lyrics and just sang gibberish instead. It ended up getting a huge laugh, and the audience loved that I didn’t take it too seriously. Sometimes, embracing those weird, unexpected moments can make all the difference — what’s been your wildest experience on stage?
